When I do a search through Google and I click on the desired links, I am redirected to a different site. The Tab also reads "Jumping." I've done the things listed in the "Read & Run Me First" page, but the problem is still reoccurring. Thanks in advance for the help!

You did not attach the requested log from Malwarebytes; however since you were very out of date with SUPERAntiSpyware and guessing you may also be out of date with Malwarebytes. Thus just to be safe, please do the below.

    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).
    • Then download this SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.
    • Now run a new full scan of your system. And attach this new log.
Now run Malwarebytes and click the Update tab. Then click the Check for Updates button so you update to the current version of the program and database. Then run a new scan with it too. Attach the new log.

What are all the files in the C:\RRbackups folder?

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
IBM 32-bit Runtime Environment for Java 2, v1.4.2
Viewpoint Media Player <-- should have been uninstalled in step 1 of the READ ME

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1A00A28B-D791-4D35-AFC7-37AD23638B1a} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {32CE0D1B-3B8E-46C3-B82F-E2AA3D137CBE} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmkjj.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E12BFF69-38A7-406e-A8EF-2738107A7831} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ayqyqapp.dll (file missing)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

NOTE: HJT may popup an error about the AppInit_DLLs line. Ignore it and click OK to continue.

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now we need to use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Now run Ccleaner. Only use the Run Cleaner button. Do not run anything else on any other forms.

Now download the current version of MGtools and save it to your root folder. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

Run MGtools.exe ( Note: If using Vista make sure UAC is still disabled. Also don't double click on it, use right click and select Run As Administrator )

    Now attach the below log:
    • the new SAS and MBAM logs
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    I've attached the requested logs!

I located the RRBackup folder, however, I was unable to delete it. Do you have any suggestions as to how to remove it? I also was unable to uninstall the IBM Runtime Environment for Java because I could not locate it.

I was not able to complete the steps listed while using MGTools because I could not locate the files. Could they have been removed during the scans?

From what I can tell, my laptop appears to be running smoothly. I am no longer redirected while browsing sites on Google. Thank you for your help!

I did not ask you to delete it. I asked you what it was for, but I have since figured out that it is part of you IBM software. It is called Rescure and Recovery.

Strange since I can see it. Just use the below patch which will remove the entry.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Your logs are clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
      • Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    3. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

I have a question regarding my registry items. There's an item in the registry that takes about 20 to 25 minutes to scan. From what I can tell it is a list of websites I've visited. However, the websites are scan several times, but under different folders, I assume.

Would you recommend clearing this item and if so how would I go about doing so. To further help you, the item includes Microsoft, Windows, and Internet Settings in the name. Thanks!

"Current Version" is also included in the name!

Sorry for the never-ending questions, but I want to ask all the questions at once to make it easier for you to address.

When I start up my laptop, several of the programs I've download appear to be starting up as well, without me having clicked on them. Most of them are the anti-virus programs I downloaded from the "Windows XP Cleaning Procedure," such as Super Antispyware and Malwarebytes.

Do you recommend changing that, and if so how would I?

You should always be exact and specific.

I assume you mean keys like the below ( and there are more ) which are all normal and part of the protection inserted into your Restricted Zone by programs like Spybot.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains

    HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\EscDomains

    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-19\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains

    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains

Malwarebytes does not run at startup. SUPERAntiSpyware loads a process into the system tray at startup unless you configure it not to. This does not run the program. It is just a small process that can aid in running the program more quickly. If you get malware and do not have this running, it is easier for malware to block SAS from running. It's up to you whether you want to have it load or not. In most cases, I would suggest not loading it unless you purchase SAS to get protection and then in that case, I would keep it loading.
