    Hi,
When I use Yahoo Email I frequently get redirected to a Google webpage that says: "Sorry, we couldn't find http://ad.yieldmanager.com/st?ad_type. Here are some related websites". It doesn't happen everytime, but usually. I can sometimes stop it if I'm fast enough by clicking on the red X, and then where the advertisement banner displays across the top it will say "Navigation to Webpage cancelled". It's been doing this for a few months and nothing I've done seems to fix it. It also does it on some other webpages I have visited periodically, but Yahoo is the worst. I haven't installed anything new other than updating Spybot and Norton that I can recall. I am running Windows XP and have followed your post instructions so far including:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide where I removed SearchAsist and Viewpoint Media Player using Add/Remove Programs
    The basic computer maintenance
Changed Msconfig to normal startup mode
Emptied Recycle Bin (I couldn't find Norton's protected recycle bin - I did not find instructions for Norton Internet Security 2008)
    Ran Ccleaner
    Enabled viewing of system files
and ran all the Windows XP cleaning procedures.

All the scans came up clean. I use Norten Internet Security 2008 and Spybot S&D religiously and they never find any problems.

I'll attach the logs of the first 4 scans, the HijackThis log will come next since I have 5 scans total. Thanks.
    Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

    Sheila

    Use add/remove programs to uninstall:
    URL Assistant

This is not a malware problem...just garbage from Dell.

Thank you Tim. That worked. I still get the "navigation to webpage was cancelled" on some frames (I belive where ads are supposed to be) in the page but it no longer forwars to google so I'm fine with that.

What the heck is URL Assistant for and why did it just start happening a few months ago? I wonder what changed since I've had the DELL computer for about 3 years. Just curious I guess.

I'll uninstall the 5 scanning software programs I installed to submit the scans to you, unless you have any other recommendations. Always trying to declutter this thing.

    Thanks so much, :wave

URL Assistant will redirect you when some ad frames are missing on a website. It happens with may Dell users and is just a nuisance.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommed you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)

    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    7. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
