Is there a list of what can and can't be deleted from the W98se OS?..

In one of my spare hd's, an 800-meg, I managed to get the 1500 megs of my favorite softwares installed, by deleting a gig of junk pix, read files, and uninstallers, and such, and using regedit to run "%temp%" to delete all the temp files.. and McAfee Uninstaller's power clean...

I've discovered that if I delete all the files in screensavers and in wallpaper, that it forces the occasional "Explore did an illegal" to pop up, and the PC freezes up... Why is that?..

Because you delete some files that you shouldn't ERASE.....

I know that... like I know that the next thing to do once the food is in your mouth, you chew...

I'm asking "why is that the system crashed from deleting all the wallpaper and screen-saver files..? To what part of the system are those critical files connected, and how, and why?.. Is there a buffer-write or plug-write, which can be inserted in place of large useless display files?.. I'm asking why, to determine Exactly which of those files can't be deleted, and what happens when in the process when they are deleted, and what is the OS process which causes explorer to create that pop-up and glitch.. and can those critical files be deleted, and something done to prevent the glitch from occurring..?

I'm not asking for the 1's and 0's in the chips of the process.. not that deep into it.. but close.. if anyone has a clue...

Thing is, there are many files and items which can be deleted, without it creating adverse effects in the PC's operation.. like most of the OS's pix, and all the temp files, using regedit's %temp%... but delete a few major Windows flags, and the whole system crashes...

It would be nice to have an ACCURATE list of what absolutely shouldn't be deleted from a Windows 98se OS...

Is there an accurate list of what can and can't be deleted from a cluttered W98se computer operating system?..

How much, and what, can a W98se system be stripped down, and still function properly?..

Yah you'll taste it more and choke lot less if you bites into it some ufor swallowin'... Unless you're in a super hurry, like those who can chug a whole beer in one long fizzy swallow... Never could figure how they do that.. nor why..? Unless it's for "mite repellent"..?

Uninstaller, and all the reg-cleaners have built-in restores... but I never used the cleaners, and still the problem happens...

It happens around after I've stripped out that dern PC slowing-down glitching-up macromedia and shockwave out of the registry... the one what comes with !E6...
Is it possible that macromedia is so connected to IE that takes-out previews with it when macro is being trashed..?

Sarcasm can be fun and thought provoking when you work it as well as you did...
