Hi. I have some old reel-to-reel audio recordings. I want to transfer them to CD or just transfer them onto my harddrive. what kind of equipment do i need to do this? how do i set it up?

    thank you

you'll need to find the audio out of the reel player (probably phono type connectors) and find a cable to adapt to the 1/8" miniplug. describe the audio out connector on your player thing

It's going to be a hard item to walk in and buy somewhere these days. Consider, too, that-- depending on the age of the tapes-- they may have become brittle, and will not even stand up to being played on a machine. Perhaps you could find a place that rents audio-visual equipment and try it out before making a purchase.

Thats true. I might just want to rent the reeltoreel player because I really don't want to play the reeltoreel recordings on a regular basis. i just want to transfer them to my harddrive and go from there.

does anyone else have any tips?
