Reformating

    How hard is is to reformat a computer? How do you actually do it??

    With win xp easy if you have a bootable copy of xp just put the disk in select CD as first boot device and follow the onscreen prompts,if its not bootable I would imagine you would have to create a system disk. :D

    Most Windows 98 S.E CD's are also bootable, so you can use the same procedure.

    The link supplied above, although correct in the steps, states

    " Unlike Windows 9x/Me, the Windows XP CD-ROM is bootable"

    Not quite true. My Windows 98 S.E and my friends ME CD's are both bootable, as are many others I have seen.

    if the os cd is not a bootable one, the command prompt option fdisk will work, but you will need to have a startup floppy.
