I am new so bear with me please. I have a hard drive with windows XP on it. I want to reformat it and not put an OS on it so I can put it into another computer as extra storage. How do I do this? Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Put it into your other computer as a slave (the switch at the back of the drive). Boot up & format the drive.

It is a SATA drive and on the back it says "no jumper required for slave".

I am not to sure but put it in the computer that you want to use fur storage and hook it all up. I don't have SATA drives so i am unsure but with IDE you can hook it into the primary and secondary slots. If you can put it in the secondary.

Boot, enter bios and make sure that drive is the secondary drive. Then just simply click on this disk and click reformat.
