    Can i ask what items from the start up list in reg cleaner can be remove safely.thanks for any help:)

    I'm using windows '98. Did you know that using msconfig to remove the programs running during start up is not strongly reccomended.

    I don't know who told you that
    but all you are doing in msconfig is unchecking certain programs" from starting up.Your not deleting the programs.
    Making for faster start-ups using less resources

    There is no trouble caused by disabling startup programs using msconfig. Just like manually edit the registry, you must know what your doing. Some programs are necessary for windows to run but it is easy to see unnecessary startup programs.
