Heya, guys, it's me again. This time I think I'm just paranoid, but this strange windows "Error" keeps poping up. It's the Messenger Service, and tells me to go to regdoc32.com and helpfixpc.com. It also says there are 55 critical system errors. Just curios is this is adware, or if I can ignore it.

Hi,

Are you running the latest service pack for the windows version you have, most likely if you have not installed SP2 if you have XP, then the Messenger Service ( this is nothing to do with MSN Messenger the chat app, but a network alert function for admins ) is still running, this service while a legitimate one, has now been hijacked by spammers to fool you with a real windows alert into clicking the links and downloading malware applications.

Options to disable the messenger service are:

Manually turn it off by going to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > and locating Messenger and double clicking it and choose Stop then in startup type choose Disabled > Apply

or Update your windows version to latest service pack as if you have XP then SP2 automatically turns it of once installed.

Alrighty, then. I've turned off the messenger service (without the app you linked), and will download SP2 ASAP. Thanks for the heads up.
