Registry folder: CourrentControlSet...?

Perusing my registry tonight I found a folder which may have always been there, or never was. It is titled CourrentControlSet under HKEY_Local_Machine/SYSTEM/.. It only includes entries for shutdown of default and fastreboot. Is this a suspicious folder, or should I not be worrying about it?

Both folders are there, CurrentControlSet and CourrentControlSet. I attempted doing an internet search on this folder but get a bunch of gobbledygook.

They are both legit keys, let me warn you, the registry is not something to browse around in. If your not experienced with the registry you shouldn't be browsing thru it because if you accidentlly remove something like these keys your OS will not load properly.

 

Yes, I am aware of that, but thanks for pointing it out to me. I am vaguely experienced with using the registry to optimize, tweak and clean, I simply know which keys need to be removed, changed etc, and leave the rest alone. Never said I was proficient. As long as that folder is legit I have no worries, thanks.

 

Let me confirm something, under the key below...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM

You should have something similiar to these, correct?

If you have something that is spelled and looks exactly like the below then it's probably not legit in which case I would like you to back it up and save it as a REG file and upload it so I can check it.
