registry issues

CCleaners registry cleaner is pretty much ok and I have had no issues with it over the time I've used it, it doesnt go too deep into the registrys missing keys/links etc so is as safe as you'll get.

Do they work, well yes as they remove left over junk links/keys etc that uninstalled programs leave behind as its not always that when you un-install a program that everything gets removed, their are always a few registry items left and as its a database the more junk the slower it is to search through the data..... you dont save much space from deleting the left overs but it will aid in keeping the OS as quick as possible.

 

plus as I forgot to add it also gives you the option of backing up what you delete in case an item was deleted in error, I have not come across a senario that it was needed that I restore a registry backup but who knows!

Any good registry cleaner worth its salt will have a backup feature.
