Registry Mechanic

I ran Registry Mechanic on my laptop a couple of days ago and it totally rearranged the registy on my PC. I now get the message "windows protection error,you need to restart, system halted" whenever I try to boot. I booted in Safe Mode (only option) and ran the restore registry option within Registry Mechanic. No luck! Does anyone have any suggestions?

 

Assuming this options is available to you, and I do not think this is Windows XP?

scanreg /restore from a DOS prompt (like on a bootdisk).

 

I have Windows ME I've ran the Scan Disk and even system restored back to at least a week ago. No Luck! Tried bootdisk this morning, No Luck! Any other suggestions?

Seems to me you have tried all that is possible.

may I suggest reinstalling windows ME that might heal all the changes made by registry mechanic

If certain programs do not work after reinstalling windows then you might have to reinstall them too.

System: Windows ME
Pentium III processor
125.0 MB Ram


I have load success up to this point:

LoadFail = c:\Windows\fonts\Marlett.ttf Failure Code is 002

Every Load Start / Load Fail process from there on failed. 0016

 

i also get windows protection error for 98
i need to fix it
no other error msg after that
i also tried scanreg /restore
and tried all options none worked
please help
