Regrets

Why is it that it takes something catastrophic for us to realize that there are things in life that we need to reprioritize? It took a good friend dieing to realize that I have been focusing so hard on work and trying to get my business going that I have been cutting off my friends and people I care about. Talk about a slap in the face. I got a call Saturday morning that a good friend of mine had died. Fortunately, he didn't linger and suffer, and that is about the only positive thing that I can say about the whole thing. I know that I will miss his humor, his funky, but always upbeat outlook on life and how he was able to make people laugh, no matter what was going on.

Sometimes, i thnk that the whole human race has the wrong prioities, other days, I think it may just be me. I guess my point is that if you read this and take time to stop and talk to those people you have lost touch with, see the poeple you care about and let them know before it's too late.

OK... on that note, I need to start working, so I am out for now.

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend, Calltaker.

 

Thanks Halo and Lev.... Still trying to figure out how to deal with it. Never have been good with people dieing, comes from spending way too many years in the medical field.

Already made adjustments at work so I can go to calling hours, fortunaltely am off on Wed so I can make the funeral too. Never could figure out why the good ones go too soon, and the Pains in the arse get to hang around forever. (at this rate, I'll likely live forever )

yea i hate it how sometimes u need to learn something the hard way...take for example my car accident today (see my other thread); my friends and i are all VERY lucky to be alive. sorry for your loss buddy....

 

Sorry to hear about your sad loss, Jim. Yeah, it does seem like it happens all too often to the good ones. Been happening a LOT to people around me, especially the last few years, which is kinda spooky in itself.

I too, have unintentionally neglected a lot of friends, especially in the last year or so. Time to touch base with those that are worthwhile, I think. Nothing worse than living a life of regret, when it's too late, i.m.o.

 

Wow this must be the month of tragedies. No matter how messed up the worlds priorities are you have to plug along and work your butt off to be equal no matter how it displeases you. Or you can live in the woods. It's like me believing the world should be open to everyone, nice, but unrealistic. Sorry about your friend, he understands I'm sure.

 

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It is never an easy thing to deal with. If only the world were a more perfect place, then we would all keep in touch with our family and friends like we should. Hope your friends family will find comfort and peace during this difficult time.

 

I just do whatever'll make me happy, not what will make my life better... works great.
