Hi! If anyone is familiar with the registry cleaning program RegSupreme Professional, I was hoping you could answer the following question... Is it normal for the things deleted from the list of installed software to automatically and immediately re-populate themselves? Any help or thoughts on the matter would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am not sure what it has anything to do with RegSupreme? Did you remove entries from the Add-Remove list using a 3rd party program or RegSupreme itself and then the entires re-appeared? Could it be that you did some sort of a 'restore' process using a utility or perhpas even XP's own restore program could have done that...please elaborate on the things that occured so we can understand better...

Yes, it is a normal function of the software, It will identify several registry keys that it thinks are useless, will delete them on your request, and they will be reinstalled on rebooting and restart. I have noticed this, and deleted the files that it said were unused, only to find them back the next time that I run the program. This is apparently a function of Windows and the installed programs. Deleting them or leaving them has never caused me a problem. Hope this helps! :)

Sorry For my complete lack of clarity, basically what happens is I open RegSupreme Pro and a list of installed software will come up. Under Author it will say Adobe then under Software it will say Acrobat. As an example of what happens, I have Visualizations (Software) by RealNetworks (Author) I uninstalled Real Player a while ago so when I saw this, I checked it and clicked the "Remove" Box. It goes fine, and it disappears from the list, but before I have a chance to blink or high-five myself or anything the same entry is back again. That one doesn't really bother me, other than the fact it's annoying, but I also have things like SUPPORTEXITSTOREokay (Software) by Unknown (Author). I'm not using any program other than the "Installed Software" Tab on RegSupreme Pro.

It might be a problem/bug with RegSupreme Pro, I used its trial version which was not too bad however free alternative such as RegScrub does a pretty good job of cleaning up the registry, it also has a few cool other features under "misc." section as well. Another good free alternative is WT RegCleanerXP. Besides these 2 free registry cleaners, I would recommend RegCleaner 4.3.0.780 for getting rid of invalid/old entries in the registry that belongs to uninstalled programs, this program also functions as a registry, dll and OLE cleaner. Give them a try if you are that keen and keeping your registry clean and up-to-date.

Thanks! I shall give them both a try.
