It has been quite a while since I first started using this program. When it first came out, everyone on this board seemed to believe it was the best thing since peanut butter. Lately I see that a lot of you are talking about RegCleaner and no one talks about Supreme any longer. Are these programs similar? Does anyone use Supreme anymore? Does one work better with XP than the other? Comments please. Thanks

Those programs are from the same programmer ( Jouni Vuorio ) or core parts are, Regcleaner was his own project regcleaner and then later JV PowerTools which then was bought by Macecraft and morphed into Regsupreme.

The reason I have been adding utilizing that particular app is two fold, one because alot of new members we have been having lately ( spyware problems and some simple registry removal of startups etc ) are not as adept as some in manual removal of registry items and that app is the simplest around. second is that its free and not limited to a trial program, plus its not as invasive in going deep into the regisrty as the others... which if some wrong keys are removed it can cause more problems than it fixes.

Another good registry app that has sort of got lost these days is RegScrubXP.

I do use all of the above on occasion plus Erunt and Registry Defragmentation, RegSupreme is still the one I'd use more than anything else as its cleaning goes very deep.. one thing I like about regcleaner is that with new programs or registry entries it leaves then at the top of the list with NEW next to it so new items are easier to spot where as Regsupreme just puts new items in alphabetical order so harder to spot.

just some of my yammerings on the subject.

Bought and use RegSupreme. It's fast and thorough. Automatic backups that you title. Good app.

I bought RegSupreme Pro, mainly because of the Add/Remove Programs widet that loads in a human amount of time. Window's built-in one takes six years once you install half a dozen programs. Nevermind all the times is breaks and leaves something there that shouldn't be.

Registry programs are tricky. Many of these guys are apparently using different ways to decide whats bad or good. Of course, you have to decide if one says 400 and the other 200 bad entries which you trust. Frankly, I have never had any troubles with any of the registry programs listed here. I mainly bought RegSupreme because I have used it for so many years for free that a few bucks seemed in order. I also like the startup management and file naming for backups, but a lot of the other tools I tried are just as good. Problem is I would not pay 30 bucks for a registry cleaner. Its too much for a small piece of software.

Is the startup management part of RegSupreme Pro? I don't have that option on RegSupreme.
