I have a problem with Windows Media Player. Is it possible to reinstall it without losing the video already installed there?
If it's relevant, I have Windows Media Player 9 , installed on Windows 98 se.
What is happening, is that it often won't play......freezes up....and when I press CONTROL/ALT/DELETE (which of course closes it down), it won't get up after that at all.....until I reboot computer.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "video already installed there." Windows media player has a media library. When you add files to the media library, you are not moving the file, but rather indexing files so that WMP can find them and play them. So you can certainly reinstall WMP without loosing your files.

The freezing is probably not due to WMP but rather the inability of your system to handle the video files in question. Would you please post your system specs (especially your RAM and you video card type) so we can tell you if your system will handle this sort of thing?

ER....I forgot to mention that the media player was working fine until I plugged in more RAM. I had 256, now have 512. I believe the card is a COMPAL V700 on Intel(R) 82815 Graphics Controller.
    Computer is Compaq Deskpro EN
