Reinstall of AviraAntiVir problem...

I originally had the older version of the Avira AntiVir Personal - Free Antivirus(I cant' remember the version) and THEN installed the latest 9.0.0.394 version.

A few days later, I encountered a verrrry slow computer and noticed when I ran msconfig that I couldn't shut off the RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOW\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup (which was NEVER there before)

Not knowing better (I admit) I ran a system restore point several days back from when I encountered the slow down problem. And when I went to restart, the system was back to full speed, BUT the Avira program would not load.

When I tried to remove the program from the control panel, it would NOT uninstall it. And like a dummy, (I admit it) I removed the folder to the recycle bin. I then tried reinstalling the most current version, 9.0.0.394, and it seemed to go normal UNTIL the point where it advised me that the system needed to reboot to finish the install. BUT, it never rebooted, even after waiting almost 10 minutes for it to reboot. Soooo, I restarted manually and...long story short....nothing happened. The program did not add any of the shortcuts and did NOT show up in the program files.

I then installed CCleaner to remove the old registry entries, did a search to locate all AVG and Avira files, then deleted them. I also cleared the temp files that the new Avira program loaded the files into.

Still nothing!

Any suggestions? Would appreciate the help.
