Reinstall xp

Did you do the fresh install?

I guess the wireless card was purchased after the computer. Or did you order it with the computer? Do you have any information about the card or did it come with a disk?

 

Well I have 2 of these cpu and still using this one im on now. This one has the modem and my kids =2 have laptops. I have a modem and wireless router setup on here. I have loaded the cd into the cpu you helped me fix.

Are you saying you have the D-Link installation disc that came with the card? If it is the D-Link CD then it should have the XP driver on it.

I am having a terrible time connecting to the D-Link site so I can't get much information. I think this is the link for the drivers for the card from D-Link if you don't have the D-Link installation CD. It is an exe file and I am not sure if it just unpacks the drivers or installs them. Double-click the file to run it and read the screens to see if it is installing or just creating a folder that you would have to browse to as in the instructions below (You would not be browsing to the CD but to the folder created by the exe):

You should not need any drivers for the router as far as I know.

 

Well as always I cant follow directions. I didnt dl the cd and then put the wireless card in. After I did that I am now connected to the net. Im going to dl an anti virus the I guess check for all the updates.
