Reinstalled Windows XP, cords in, no internet

    can any1 help me get internet to my windows xp dell laptop? reinstalled windows and have the cords plugged in...
    ive tried setting up connections and everything
    and under ipconfig, theres nothing

    Have you installed the network drivers? You should have a cd with them, or you may need to go to Dell's website on another computer and burn a cd with the drivers.

    Look for the network ones, but you might want to get the others as well.

    I just checked the link I posted, and you need to know what you have in that computer! Have you tried searching Dell's site using the Service Tag number on the computer to find out what is under the hood? I have found the service tags to be very helpful with Dell's.

    You could also download Everest http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181 should give you a good idea of what you need.
