Last night I went to a friend's house to help her with her virus-ridden computer. Not knowing that it was unable to get online, I ended up spending about 45 minutes on the phone with Verizon (her ISP) -- the guy couldn't help me. We did a ping test and the computer wasn't giving an IP address -- connection was verified but no information was coming back. So he put me on with a Level III tech. who finally asked me to remove the network card through the control panel. I gave me a message saying that it couldn't be removed because it was a necessary part of the computer for it to restart or something like that...so the guy said yeah some network cards are connected to the motherboard so you can't remove them. Well, when I got off the phone with him, I realized the network card was gone. Now I don't know what to do to reinstall it. My friend has various driver CDs but I didn't see a specific Intel installation CD.

    Thanks!

    Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Hardware

Do an auto search, see if it picks it up and sometimes they install automatically.

If not, do a search on www.driverguide.com for it (be sure to make a note of the name of it when it appears in the add/remove hardware box.)
