When I got my new computer with Win XP I tried to save some things from my old outlook express and put them in my new outlook express. I am pretty sure I did it incorrectly ( ie saved email and address book). How can I completely reinstall outlook express.

From Microsoft: How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer in Windows XP. However, I think we need more info from you; perhaps re-doing what you tried for transferring your email and address book from your old computer is really what's needed here, not a reinstalling of OE.

What was your procedure for moving email messages over to the new computer? Likewise, for address book?

Oh, by the way, did you know your hair is on fire? :D

LOL Yes I do, isnt it great. I will have to look at my puter when I get home and will post. I hope I can remeber. It has also caused me to type in my PW everytime I open Outlook Exp, I cant make it remember the PW. I have done everything to make it remember it, I have it working that way on my laptop so I know how to do it. BTW your link takes me back to this thread.

    Oops, I fixed the link.

So, you use a password on your OE Identity, right?

A suggestion regarding the password. Delete your Comcast account in the new computer. In the old computer, open OE, go to Tools, Accounts, select the Comcast account and click on Export. That will export the account to a file with extension .iaf. Copy that file to the new computer and import it. This should create account settings identical to what you have in the older computer and should resolve the password issue.

Wish I could do that, it is gone tho. I believe what I did was copy the old Outlook express folder and address book file and substitute them. I will try and get the exact names tonight.
