Hi, thanks in advance for helping me.
I have a P4 2.8 MHz, 800 MHz front side bus, 1 mb cache, 2 gig dual channel ram, Chaintech 5700 256 mb (not LE) video card, 120 gig hard drive, LG CD - rom, and a Toshiba DVD burner, Windows XP Home SP 2.
I am going to receive a DVD from Europe from relatives (it will be short hello's etc). The problem is that I will need to convert this to NTSC as it will be in PAL format. I have an older DVD player (Sony) and I know that it will not convert it. I do have my TV hooked up to my computer with the use of nview from nVidia. I have to know if this will convert it automatically so that it will play on my TV properly. I have searched the internet for conversions but they seem lengthy and require knowledge and $$$ for software.
This will be short and we do not wish in making DVD's of it. All we want is it to play when all the relatives come over and then maybe if it isn't to hard make a copy of it in DVD. I have Nero 6, DVD Shrink, Alcohol 120% and DVD Decrypter.
Please Help I'm in a bind as I said that I would handle this....

The only thing i can think of that might work is use a dvd ripper program to rip the dvd to a avi or mpeg then use a program that is called dvd santa that program will burn an avi to ntsc format.
