I am trying to use my desktop computer as a interface for Hulu to my TV but I don't want to run cables across the room, nor have a specialized wireless keyboard and mouse to control the host machine (desktop).
I want to use my laptop to control the desktop computer.
I already have been using remote desktop for other uses but when I log in, of course the host machine goes to the logon screen. This will not allow me to use the desktop computer as an entertainment server remotely controlled by my laptop.

Is there a way to keep the host computer from reverting to the logon screen when I log in with remote desktop? I am comfortable with altering the registry if there is a way to do it through the registry.

My desktop is running XP. My laptop is running Vista Business.

    Thanks.

P.S. if remote desktop cant be manipulated, what is the best alternative for the least #$ without having to buy/add hardware?
