Remote printing via Terminal Services on Server 2008 machine

I have a server 2008 terminal server/domain controller set up as a test environment. I am testing the remote access capabilities of our in house software that we currently connect to via TS.

I can connect and I can run the application OK
I can see my printer listed as a redirected printer OK
I can send a print job to the printer and it goes through the print queue on the Terminal Server OK

But it never reaches my local print queue.

What have I missed?

 

I had an issue similar to this one, but with vmware view, and printing to a Parallel print server and 2008 print server. I essentially, bypassed the printer server (2008) and then installed the printers as network printers on the view clients themselves.

I know that view and TS are not the same, but it may be something to try.

 

I had the same problem and I can recommend any of the commercial solutions but do not recommend installing a print driver on the server because it can lead to the destruction of the server, users were constantly called because printers doesn’t working, print spooler crash, and then I found TSPrint and solved all the problems with RDP printing, and many other problems, I tried several commercial solutions and the most I like is TSPrint due to low prices and good support feedback. check the permissions in the printer properties.
