remote security cams

I need to set up some sort of remote survelance for a relative with learning difficulties, needs to be simple, at the moment he has no computer or broadband conection, cost is a bit of an issue, we will need a least 2 cams, any advice would be helpful

Is the system to check up on him or for him to protect his house?

maplins a good call and most have ethernet so can be monitored over the net if you decide to do this

the problem with most of the dvr survelance kits which include everything is the quality of the cameras the dvr's tend to be ok but iv'e found most dvr's tend to be the same there's not a lot to set them apart
cameras are a different kettle of fish all together there's a lot of variation in quality , resolution and low light performance which can be masked by the use of infra red led's to make you think low light performance is good

iv'e found wireless cctv cameras to be a waste of space there's too much that can cause interference and the fact you have to supply power to them well there not truly wireless are they

to advise you further i would need to know the purpose of the cameras and if they are going to be used indoor or outdoor and the sort of area you want to cover
