    I need to remove two MFG registry keys and two HardwareID registry keys. I don't know how, it says unable to delete selected values. I'm uninstalling PowerDVD 12 and i want to remove all its registry keys whatsoever, I'm down to these four. Any help would be appreciated.

    What are these keys? Specifically?
    Can you post a pic of the error message?
    Are you sure they aren't required for something else?

    Are you seeing degraded performance by leaving these keys as is? What are they doing that requires you to remove them?

    If your computer is operating fine, there's nothing whatsoever to be gained by removing these keys. There is much to lose by tinkering with the registry.

    Note: To anyone that follows the following, you do so at your own risk. So create a restore point before proceeding.

    To do this you'll need to run regedit as system.
    Download Sysinternals PsExec, make a directory for it and extract the zip file to the created directory.

    Here's a simple batch file to launch Regedit as System, you just need to change the file path to where psexec.exe is located.
    Paste the following into notepad and save as type: All files - name: Regedit++.bat
    Code:
    @echo off
    for /F "tokens=1,2*" %%x in ('bcdedit') do set adminTest=%%x
    if (%adminTest%)==(Access) goto not_admin

    REM Edit the file paths
    "C:\edit the path\PsExec" -s -i -d "C:\Windows\regedit.exe"
    goto finish

    :not_admin
    echo You must run this script as administrator!
    pause
    goto finish

    :finish

    Right click and run the batch file as Administrator.

    Are you running regedit.exe as an administrator? Even if you are on XP it might work if you run regedit as the default administrator.
