Removed personal security malware

First off i'm no programmer or hacker i tinker with computers and just get lucky sometimes, but I wanted to share this with the board.... my nephew ended up with the personal security malware on his computer. He asked me to reformat the system for him cause everything he'd tried didn't work.
I brought the system home, and started looking around the net to find a way to remove it. Yes i tried every suggestion in this forum and a few others too, but that is a very determined virus lol...
Anyway i got to thinking just remove the folder... no its in the reg wont work... couldn't find a way to uninstall it online, and didn't really want to reformat the system if I could help it.
So after a few long nights and frustrating attempts at this and that. It struck me how can a company create a virus that holds your computer hostage unless you buy there software without falling under the cyber terrorism laws?
Answer: they hide the uninstall folder on the system in a hidden folder... I used the search in start menu had it look for personal security in every folder including hidden and system files.
Guess what it found... you guessed it the uninstall for personal security ... opened the file double clicked the icon and BAM it took it completely off the system.
