I recently changed from Earthlink dial up to Charter cable for my internet service. I left Earthlink on my computer until now to make sure I got everyone notified of my new email address. Now I'm ready to get everything Earthlink off this computer. Add and remove all things earthlink is another issue I'll tackle later (when I tried it did not go well)! Right now my question is, if I go to Tools, Accounts (in Outlook Express) and click on my email, dial up earthlink account and click remove, it says "are you sure you want to delete the my email account". What exactly am I deleting? I want it to stop trying to dial up and download earthlink emails, but I don't want to lose everything in my email. I've got a long way to go to get this computer where I want it, but this is step one!

I don't get to come here as often as I'd like, but you folks are always very helpful.

    Thanks,
    Patti :confused

In Outlook Express go to Tools > Accounts. When that opens, highlight the Earthlink account and click on Properties just to the right. Then untick the box that says "Include this account when sending mail."

That helped, thanks. This also made me realize I had not changed my email on majorgeeks. Now that has been taken care of too!
