I have a hard drive which has been infected by the Banker FS Trojan.
I had, fortunately, cleaned up most of the data on it since I obtained a new one. I simply want to reformat, reinstall the OS on the infective hard drive and move on. But I have about one zip file that I would like to retain from it. My question is - is spyware smart enough to infect my zip drive if I plug it in to retrieve the solitary file? Or should I be OK? I don't know about malware enough to know whether it can copy itself into a zip drive and consequently infect other computers.
Your kind advise is sought... Thanks

Yes, malware can infect your zip drive, so it would be best to copy the zip file to a cd and then scan the cd for malware before copying it back.
