Hi, is there any safe way to remove/uninstall IE:confused I mean why do i need to have such a horrible browser taking up space on my computer? Just for Windows updates or special fiunctions?

If not, is there anything I don't need on my system that is rarely used that i can uninstall n just strictly have what i use? Will doing so make any drastic changes on how my cpu runs or OS in general:confused

    Thanks,
    Bless,

While Add/Remove does have a means of "uninstalling" internet explorer, no, you cannot really remove it.

Essentially, yes. Internet Explorer is so tightly integrated into Windows that it would be very painful to completely remove.

That said, what are you issues with IE? Maybe we can help you overcome them. IMO, particularly for version 7, IE can be made just as good, if not better than other browsers.

Not sure exactly what you're asking here, but if you're looking to speed up your system, I would recommend following the instructions in this post, as it contains a good number of tweaks to get your system running more quickly.

Of course, make sure you're malware free, or following the above steps might be for nought.

Thanks - one catch: I've assumed AI is using XP, which may be a fallacy

I mean how do u have IE 7? I have my updates on n i havent gotten any notifications of anything.

Also Im sure with it being possibly better its bulky ashell. I like FF but if your on a mediocre laptop it uses a hell of alot of CPU usage.

I literally can't do many java/flash things nor watch Divx Stream movies on here without the CPU running between 80-97k :(

Also I love FF for the tabbed browsing n configure tools such as not storing Searches, etc..

Not certain whether it's pushed out by automatic updates, but I ALWAYS get it doing updates manually.

Or, you can always download it directly, and install like you would any 3rd party browser.

IE7 might be a good choice for you then, as it is less resource-intensive than Firefox, has tabbed browsing, and is (IMO) more easily configurable than IE6 was. Pretty secure by default, and has a no-add ons mode which makes it a little easier to troubleshoot problems.

    What OS are you using?
What are your computer's specs? (If you're not sure, post a make and model instead)

So basically ram works like this? More activity = chokes out ram capacity? Im thinking n have been thinking of gettin 1gb with like 600mhz or betta, you think this will regulate my CPU %tage? hmmmm
