Removing Outerinfo

I'm sorry if this duplicates an existing thread, I am trying to help a good online friend, and she ran hijackthis to get a log which I will cut and paste below. I am not familiar with hijackthis so I didn't know if the answer for other people would remain the same, or vary depending on what she has on her system, so here it is, and I hope someone can help me to help her.... Thanks in advance...

I will watch for a reply, and I'm sorry if I duplicated a previous instance but I figured better safe than sorry.

Welcome to Majorgeeks!

We are going to need your friend to follow the below and get the logs requested, to gain a fuller picture of whats on her pc, while outerinfo will be one malware component, they generally come in groups so to properly remove all pests its best to run the below.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:

CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender

Bitdefender - from step 6

Panda Scan - from step 6

runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat

newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat

HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

Thanks in advance for all your help, I just sent her an email with the link to this page, and will help her through it, but if she can't get a handle on it I will have to see if I can swing by there next month when I'm in her area. I appreciate the response, and will try and get it done fast, but if not, then it will be a month.

What you could also tell her is to register on the forum and if she gets stuck with any steps we could guide her along as well as yourself. Just tell her to go slow with the guide, it looks daunting but its not really once you get into it and work through it step by step.

Were here so no problem on time limits, but any logs attached or run would have to be current ones.
