    Hi,
I have just today cleaned up a nieghbours netbook and combo fix installed the recovery console, i now want to remove it but i cannot seem to, i have followed these instructions
right-click start>explore>tools>folder options>view>show hidden files and clear checkbox for hide protect OS files>yes to confirm.
double click C drive>delete cmdcons....then i run into trouble.... error message...
cannot delete 1394BUS.SY_: Access is Denied make sure disk is not full or write-protected and the file is not currently in use.
Stumped as what it is i have to do now, I have tried removing in safe-mode with the same outcome, any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
I found this. It relates to file permissions. The security tab is not available on XP home. To get to the security tab on XP home you have to log in to the administrator account in safe mode. In XP pro you get the security tab by disabling simple file sharing. I am not sure which OS you are using.

I would advise them to keep the Recovery Console. ;) It could come in pretty handy should they ever run into malware problems again.
