Removing Virtual Drives

A friend of mine is trying to install a game (Sims 2) on her computer, however she keeps getting an error message (I don't remember exactly what it was, something to the effect of being unable to install a certain file). I looked up the error message and I found a bunch of other people who had the same problem and solved it by getting rid of their virtual drives. I went to check her computer and sure enough there are 4 completely blank virtual drives - she doesn't know why or how they got there. So I was wondering how I would go about removing them, since we can't locate the program that put them on.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Virtual drives are usually associated with programs like Alcohol 120% or Elby CloneCD. Look for these programs on your friend's computer and if you find one of them, open it and look for a Virtual Drive tab. (Could be under Options)
Select zero for number of virtual drives. Uninstall the program, then reboot.
Some games will search for emulation software utilising virtual drives and refuse to begin installation until they are removed. Blame it on the pirates.

    Regards, Blueheeler.

Check for Daemon tools. Probably has that running on her system.
