Removing VirusBuster

A fake antivirus program called Virusbuster downloaded itself onto my computer, and now (even though I immediately removed the program from my computer) I am getting error messages at the bottom right hand corner of my computer screen, my internet homepage has become an advertisement for antivirus programs (all for sale), and I am getting regular "Critical Error" messages. I searched and saw instructions on "SpyFalcon Removal" which looks like a similar spyware, but I don't know if you have to do the same thing to remove this as you do SpyFalcon.
