What can I remove without causing problems? I recently was given an HP laptop that my brother doesn't use. The laptop is currently running Windows 10 Home Version 22H2, OS Build 19045.4412 and Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19056.1000.0.

I was notified that Windows 11 is "now ready" to install on this PC, but I plan to stick with Windows 10, as this laptop is used mostly as a backup for when I travel. I was going through my Revo Uninstaller program and uninstalling programs I know I can safely remove, but came across a whole mess of what I believe is bloatware, like HP ePrint SW, Jumpstart apps, JS Bridge, and JS Launch. Under the Windows Apps tab, I found Dev Home, Jumpstart (separate from the above JS stuff), Microsoft 365 (Office), the usual Microsoft Office programs (the only one I would likely use would be Word), Operator Messages, and Phone Link. I know what some of these apps are for, but some I have no idea. Which of these apps can I get rid of? Since I wouldn't use most of the Microsoft Office apps, except Word, can I remove them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a very stripped down version of win11 on a PC I use for mining, you can remove a lot. My suggestion is anything you are unsure of, research it, if it is something you will never use, uninstall it. If you dont know what it is, leave it. Open task manager, then check your startup apps, some apps you can just turn off "auto start", then if you ever need to use it you can manually start it up. My 2 cents.

You can also follow this steps:

    1. Built-in Tools:
    - Start Menu: Click the Windows icon on your taskbar to open the Start menu. In the search bar, type "Add or remove programs" and select the result that appears. From there, you can uninstall specific apps you don't need⁵.
    - Settings App: Open the Windows Settings app, go to "System," then choose "Recovery." Click on "Reset PC" and choose "Remove everything" to perform a clean reset⁶.

    2. Specific Apps to Consider Removing:
    - HP ePrint SW: If you don't use it for printing, you can safely uninstall it.
    - Jumpstart apps, JS Bridge, and JS Launch: These are likely HP-specific utilities. If you're not using them, you can remove them.
    - Dev Home: This is a developer tool. If you're not a developer, you can uninstall it.
    - Microsoft 365 (Office): If you only need Word, consider uninstalling the other Office apps you won't use or use one of the freeware versions from here: Download Office & Productivity Tools for Windows - MajorGeeks
    - Operator Messages and Phone Link: These are optional; remove them if you don't need them.

    3. Backup First:
    - Before uninstalling anything, create a backup to minimize the risk of data loss.
