renamming my document folder

can anyone tell me how to change the name on my document folder

 

Click on it to highlight...wait a couple of seconds and click on it again. This should put the name into Edit mode so you can change it to whatever you want.

Is that what you meant, or have I misunderstood your question?

 

Renaming critical system folders like 'My Documents' and 'Program Files' and others is a VERY bad idea. I guy I know "read in a book" he could change the name of any folder he wanted (which is technically true, but not always a good idea). So he changed EVERY folder on his laptop. Program Files became "Ron's Programs"; Documents and Settings became "Ron's Documents"; Windows became (you guessed it) "Ron's Windows"; and so. Shortly after this, he noticed that "none of my programs run anymore- I didn't erase them". He didn't realize the massive problems he had caused. He restarted his PC and went through trying to name everything back to how it was. Needless to say, it didn't work. So, a good rule is this: if you didn't create the folder, it's probably not a good idea to right click on it and change the name. Sometimes it's OK, sometimes it's not, and sometimes it's catastrophic.

 

This is a fresh copy of windows and accident added my whole name during the xp setup, and my whole name is apart of my document. I just want my name off..can anyone help?
