Repeating Spaces

Often when I start typing text into any box or software like Notepad or Word the cursor suddenly whizzes along for about 50 to 100 spaces so then I have to delete back to get to my text. Any idea what may be causing this. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium. This isn't tied to any one piece of software and doesn't happen all the time but often enough to be a damned nuisance. It also happens in different browsers.

 

TBH it sounds like your spacebar is sticking. Does it stop if you quickly tap the space bar while this is happening? Do you have av different keyboard you can try, or is this a laptop, in which case it may need professional attention?

 

Should have thought of that myself. I'll try it next time it happens and get back on here. Thanks for that. Let's hope it's as simple as that. My keyboard isn't part of a laptop by the way.
