Replacing processor..advice wanted please

Since upgrading to XP my PC has never been the same with regard to performance. With support from MG I've checked various things (spyware included) and have come to the conclusion I need to upgrade my processor.

I'm expereinced doing sounds cards, graphic cards etc but never have attemtped a processor. Is it much the same process....card out, card in, install drivers? Does anyone have a site I can go read this at in simple terms if it isn't as easy? Does anyone have a specific processor they would recommend for my system that should be trouble free installation and usage?

My current PC spec is below. It is, in effect, a custom built P3.

BX133 boards will only work with p3.

 

Can buy better spec Pentium 3 cpus off ebay really cheaply

 

Get the best processor you can for Socket 370.Celeron or p3.

Also do these things come with a heat sink? If not can I use the one off my old CPU? What is overclocking?

I'm beginning to think I'm in way over my head with this one. I get down on my knees to check out if my m/b is compatible with coppermine processors and I find the following on my existing processor 733/256/133/1.65vS1

I thought my existing one, going on the Belarc spec below, was 367 mhz. So which is right? Or am I simply misinterpreting the info?
