    Hi,
Thanks for this great site and forum. I've been able to resolve some issues in the past just using the "sticky"s.
My current problem started on Saturday 7th March, 2015, with a BSOD, "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".

    Current symptoms include:
    - BSOD when trying to load Windows normally
    - Usually Windows does then load normally and dispays "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown"
    - If trying to start in Safe Mode with Networking I'm geting BSOD after loading drivers (I was previously able to get into Safe Mode though)
    - Intermittent issue where right-clicking on Start or file in Explorer freezes and crashes Explorer
    - Programs not running including Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

I'm running Windows 7, IE9. I have Internet connectivity and most programs seem to be working ok.

    Scan reports:
    - RougeKiller: When 'Run as Administrator', security warning shows but no response to 'Run'
    - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: No response to running mbam.exe; no response to renamed mbam.exe; when downloading on clean computer, renaming and transporting on USB then still no response to running installer
    - TDSSKiller: When 'Run as Administrator', security warning shows but no response to 'Run'
    - HitmanPro: Ran successfully. Log attached. Sorry, I miss the step on unticking 'Scan for Tracking Cookies'
    - MGTools: Ran, with a lot of "The system cannot find the file specified messages". Re-ran 'GetLogs.bat'. Command window closed each time without creating an MGLogs.zip file.

Hoping someone can help with next steps. Thanks,
    Mainframe101

    Hi there. :)

Is Hitman able to fix what it finds, including what is on the "Repairs" tab?

I may have to have you run another tool, but just answer that first.

    Hi,
    Thanks for helping me out.
HitmanPro was able to repair and remove everything that it found.
I rebooted, and Windows loaded up ok. Between the 'Starting Windows' and 'Welcome' screen, I saw a black screen with a HitMan Pro message. Is that normal? Do you know it's just a one-off thing?
I tried to run MBAM as Administrator, but still no action.
    Looking forward to next steps.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
RougeKiller will actually start now. I couldn't find a "RKreport[1].txt ", but I pressed 'Report' after the scan ran, and have attached the log.
Though not in the log, there were items on the 'AntiRootkit' tab that were all shaded green.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Windows starts normallly. No recent BSODs.
I haven't tried Safe Mode since starting this thread.
    No right-click freezes recently.

TDSSKiller just ran - logs attached. It did a reboot for an update and a reboot after finding something. I got the black background both times and just contined ok on after the reboot.
MBAM - I tried starting my installed copy by running mbam.exe as Administrator, but didn't even get the warning box to run. I tried a few Chameleon files directly and the command box opened (which wasn't happening before) but it couldn't update or start MBAM. I downloaded latest copy from this website as renamed file. Ran as Administrator and installed it into Program File (perhaps I should have uninstalled the old copy from Program File x86) and it installed successfully, ran and found no problems.

What's your thoughts on problems experienced and liklihood of infection now?

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
