Well i have a research paper coming up for my English Class. We get to pick our own topic, but it has to be an "historical investigation."

Im trying to come up with something but there is so much to pick from.

Here are a few of my ideas:

    Music of the Vietnam era
    Vietnam War
    History of computers
    WorldWar I, or II
    Civil War

I think a war would be cool, but there would be too much information to go through. I just might consintrate on one battle or campaign.

Please feel free to shoot out any suggestions or idea. I would especially like to hear from any Juniors in HS, working or had worked on there termpaper.

BTW it should be about 5 - 7 pages..so its not to lenghty. :)

how about President Kennedys assasination. you go throught he whole thing and the whole grassy nole controversy and everything. or you could do something a little more climatic and discuss the terrorists attacks.

You could go waaaaay back and talk about Alexander the Great's campaign through Persia. You could talk about why you think he did it, why they turned back, and what happened to him after he got back. It's truly an interesting story. Here're some snippets from a response I wrote for one of my History classes:

Well i finally picked a topic. Space Shuttle Disasters
I figured i could narrow it down to 3 tragedys. Those would be my 3 main points. :)

Better make it "Space Program Disasters", since only 2 of them were Shuttles. Could either be 3 or 4, depending on whether you considered in the air, or fatal. Apollo 1 was fatal, but on the ground. Apollo 13 was darned near fatal, but in space.

As phantom says, the history channel is a great source of ideas and information. Generally I suggest any series of events that shaped the world we live in today. The middle east is a great example.

There are generations of people who hate eachother for no other reason than their fathers felt the same way. The original causes of conflict are lost or forgotten and may not be relevant. The only thing that is left is the emotion associated.
