Reset CPU Ratio

Pls i need help, my system gave me an error message at start up to reset the CPU ratio. I did so, but now the system cannot boot, is there a way to reset it back?

 

Have you tried resetting CMOS? Take the battery out of the motherboard for a minute or so before replacing it.

 

Thanks i will try, but is that going to set the CMOS to it default settings?

 

Yes it will, but unless you've changed anything in the BIOS yourself (which you'll need to change back) then you'll be ok.

 

I took out the Battery but still it couldn't solve the problem. I edited the Processor ratio to 250 it was 200 initially. Now when i boot the PC i don't have any display on the monitor. Pls what can i do? Does it mean that the processor is spoild?

 

Try taking the battery out for about 5 minutes, turn off the PSU at the back too.

 

Reset CMOS, when in doubt how follow mobo manual instructions, sometimes just removing battery for couple minutes isnt enough.

It's possible you have corrupted your OS


Could you have dammaged hardware, it's possible, hopefully you didnt change any voltages
