For some reason it won't play on my computer anyone else having this problem? It works fine on my ps2, I thought it might just be a fluke so I rented it from another place just to see but it's still happening.

Thats because PS2 games are made to play on your PS2 not a computer.

This belongs in the Games forum. Sadly you cannot play PS2 games on your comp.

Shaum, if this is indeed a 'game', then it belongs to the game forum but in case you were referring to the DVD movie, then it should be posted in the software forum... ;)
Either way please provide more info (is this the only one with the problem? Do you get any errors? Has it ever played before? etc.) if you still want help.

I assume you're talking about the DVD 'Resident evil 2 '.

Some DVD protection schemes may prohibit them being played on P.C. DVD readers, for obvious copyright reasons.

Was talking about the movie, it will play the previews but after that it freezes. It did this from two different rental places. I guess if you rent this and only have a dvd on your comp your screwed.

    Sorry for the late reply,
I had the same exact issue with ,y 4+ yea old Fisher DVD player, it still plays everything else just fine but I think due to some copy-protection scheme used on it (I am guessing) the DVD players with older decoders are not able to play it properly.
Right after the Lady (Statue of Liberty) and the White Horse (Unicorn) the screen went black and even halted my DVD player. Only the eject button worked!
Anyhow, how did I cure it? Went to Wal-Mart bought the $70 Phillips DVD player.... ;)

For internal PC DVD players, try a firmware/ DVD player sw update as JUST suggested...

AnyDVD (T.M.) should enable you to play your original DVD's.

Fully functional Trialware availible from Slysoft's site.

I didn't have this problem on my laptop. Sounds like your decoder is toast.
