    Hey,

It would seem I still have some residual malware on my system. Essentially every now and then I get a small popup that tells me my system has a virus, or that I am being tracked etc.. This is then followed by attempts by systemdoctor or winantivirus to scan my system. Note: I have been able to stop these ads from installing the software on my system, but I would like to stop the problem altogether.

I have followed all the steps as directed in the faq.

Windows defender and adware came up with nothing.

I also ran CCleaner and the other small clean up programs to prep my system for the following major scans.

Spybot found a couple of items like winantivirus and removed them without any issues. I also enabled the immunization function, which apparently will block any "dangerous" websites in internet explorer.

Bitdeffender came up with nothing (log attached)

Panda scan came up with a ton of stuff (log attached)

I also included a hijackthis log per the instructions.

Perhaps next time you should complete the work that is given to you and continue to follow up until the person helping you tells you that you are clean. I'm referring to how you just let the below thread drop:

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=94280

If you had finished that thread, you would have received additional instructions to properly protect your PC which is running without an antivirus and without a firewall.

With the amount of time that we spend working to help people here and putting together elaborate procedures to help fix malware problems, we find it very discurtious to not follow up and complete a thread. Why should we put in the effor next time when it may result in the samething......an incomplete thread/fix?

You're right, that was discourteous of me and I apologize.

I'm guessing I've burned this bridge, so I'll try another forum.

Thanks for the initial help, seeya

No you have not burned the bridge! We will always help but I wanted to see your answer and I wanted to be sure you are going to completely follow thru this time.

If you want help, I will provide it. Just say the word and I will post a fix for you. But please make sure that we are finished before going away.
