i finally have a computer in the house that can serve as a backup for my current 120GB HDD while i wipe it clean and format my system on a new Mobo, with dual 120GB on a raid0.

is there a way using Norton Ghost or Acronis TrueImage that I can backup my current HDD to an image file , and restore it onto the freshly formatted raid array? (after windows is loaded)

or is it easier to backup folder by folder over my network, and transfer it back when I am done?

sorry for my endless questions about HDD image files :p but i've just been really busy with building computers lately:D

    thanks

It can be done. Unfortunately, I don't know how... but I'm sure there's a way.

Yes it should work fine... (I use Ghost) as once the RAID array is set up...all software just sees it as one hard drive...
so in a sense, Ghost (or Windows for that matter) thinks it is only one drive...
The only dilemna you may have is if you restore a whole image...it will have your OS without the RAID drivers......
so you "may" have to restore the image...

and then just do a repair of XP (ooops, I just checked your post..what OS are you using?) and install the RAID drivers....

:( i just realized to my shock that my A7N8X Deluxe doesnt even have Raid besides the SATA Raid... something i must have overlooked

oh well.. i'll just have to do a repair install of windows on the new motherboard...
