Restore.log missing

    I am trying to do a Restore on my computer (by hitting F10 at start up) and I get the message:

    Cannot find log file restore.log

    I click ok and then get:

    C:\minint\system32\Restore.log missing

    Any suggestions?

    Oh...almost forgot...I do not have a recovery CD. :((

    What is the make/model of PC? Is the PC still able to boot into Windows or is Windows not working?

    It's a Compaq Presario 6000. It boots fine, it just runs really slow and has a lot of errors. I've gone through the malware removal guide, which took days because my computer is so slow, and it didn't help..in fact it's worse. So I figured I'd just do a recovery and start fresh, but...no luck there.
