Hi, I made a huge blunder the other day. I installed a program directly in my program files folder and when it refused to work i try to uninstall it. Luckily it didnt finish the installation process. The reason for this luck is that my computer was deleting every single program in my program files folder. (another plus was I'm running windows 7 so it only deleted the programs in program files(x86)) Well it deleted alot of files in some important programs, like adobe etc and i need those programs back. So is the a way to restore those programs without restoring everything to factory settings?

(if you need my computer's specs)

If you did something like a manual delete and the files ended up in the Recycle Bin, then you can recover the files back to their original location, otherwise you are out of luck and will have to take it back to a factory state after you back up all of your important data.

Nope it was through the control panel :/ well I have a **** load to back-up now. So now how do I get it back to factory condition? And will that restore all of my lost programs?

After returning it to the factory state, the only programs you will have will be the ones that came with the computer. To get a HP computer back to the factory state you have to either use the Restore DVD you created and if you have not I would recommend that you do that as soon as possible, or you can use the F11 key during boot and follow the instructions.

    Hi,
You might want to check if the program actually uninstalled your other files or if it hid them as some type of malware.

In Explorer window open to your Programs(x86) folder, Click Organize at the top left and select Folder and Search options, then View tab and tick the circle for Show Hidden Files and a few lines down Uncheck the box for Hide Protected System Files. Hit Apply. Are your files still gone?
