Ok, same error as before, I called alienware and all of that. We Re-did everything. We ran the Ghost Image DVD... And we set it all up.

    Now, the problem is lessened.
This time, it only happens when i play Starcraft, BroodWar. (I think, for about 45 minutes.)

I just want this damn thing fixed!!!:cry

    Please, anyone out there?

I assumed it was locked, because people would naturally assume its solved. Do i post in this one?

Besides, its a different problem anyways, so i surmised that the best thing to do was to come back here and make a new thread since it is a different situation.

Look, im just looking for a solution to this, its driving me insane.

OK!!!!! IVE FOUND THE ERROR!!! THIS error causes the BSoD. I Went into the Event Veiwer... And I searched the history for the past 2 Days.. (Overall, 33250 Events have occured, and I seached through them. Each time a BSoD occured, this event showed up around 100 times, occuring over about a 45 minute time span.)

The Acpi 2.0 _PCT object returned an invalid value of 7- I found a post for some kid needing help with it in another forum, but no one replied. Any thoughts?

As I've Said before, It has changed; It now only happens when I run an application/game- StarCraft:BroodWar.

In the last thread I posted, the error showed up Randomly and was possible to occur at any time. Please stop trying to attack me with this, and just please... Help me.

    Now, I saw the "Ares.Exe"

However, the error doesnt appear when I run Ares.Exe Alone.
I can leave it on all day with Ares, AIM, and all of the programs I have.
Although, when I run starcraft, its a completely different story.

    ????Ideas anyone????

Ares.exe is a process which belongs to the Ares Peer-to-peer File Sharing tool, not needed, so try uninstalling it or stop the process when playing the game via task manager.
Other ACPI 2.0 is overheating, from what I see and a known issue with Alienware.

BTW Caps are considered rude in a forum, especially when you're asking members to use their time to provide you free help. I know you're frustrated but playing a game is not really a major issue, so try to be patient and people will help.

Oh, sorry, the Caps werent offensive, i was excited i found the error. hahahaha
Btw, i tried multiple Reinstalls and uninstalls, it still happens...

And this game is really important stuff to me, its part of my income for cash.

    No game=no cash for me.

OK sorry I misunderstood then, peace.

Not a game player, do you need this Ares installed/running to play the game? It seems to cause issues...

I see, well more fun than my job :-D

Hopefully this will solve the BSOD, they seem to like you though. I would also look at your overheating problem too.

I've been told that Overheating doesnt cause a bluescreen. I checked the temps anyways. All fine.

I uninstalled ares too, backed up my music and movie files. Unfortunately, I get more time in the game, however, it Freezes sometimes... So far, it seems random, apparently.

I checked the event viewer, there are no events that show a security or system warning/failure.

    Ideas?

Also, is there any way I can get my Ares back on without causing a BSoD? I've been using Ares for a long time now... I know it isn't a bad program, and I'd really like to have music playing when I play, but it isn't totally... "Needed".
Ares just is such a good player, and it doesn't cause Discoloration in the game.

key word here is other ;)

Ares was causing the BSOD, why I don't know...other was overheating maybe due to Ares also running and resources again I don't know. If you don't get the APCI 2.0 event anymore then Ares was the cause...

Think no re Ares, you could post your system specs in Gaming Forum here and see if someone can help you with freezes.

ACPI... What is it and how do i stop it from overheating ... if thats the case?

Again, you could post your system specs in Gaming Forum here and see if someone can help you with freezes. Guessing it's hardware/resources causing but I have no clue. You will get more help in Games I think, not really a software issue anymore. I'm just trying to give you the best help I can.
