RGB question, hooking laptop to TV

    I am hooking my laptop to my tv using a rgb cable (i think thats what it is called LOL) I get picture but no sound from tv can still get sound from laptop. We have videos we want to watch as family but cant hear them. I have a ACER aspire 5516 laptop. Any help would be appreciated Thank you so much.

    Get the appropriate cable and simply use the headphone out on the laptop and plug it into the audio in Left and Right on the TV.

    what would be the appropriate cable? The one i have looks like the one that plugs into the monitor and computer?
