One afternoon, a retired air force pilot and his family were driving through Texas on a vacation. They pass a road sign. One of the children remarks on the fact that the sign is named after a newspaper comic.

After about five minutes, they pass another sign, which reads, "Golf Road". As soon as they pass it, the man turns to his wife and says he knows what the next sign will say, and that he'll bet her twenty dollars that he's right. She agrees, and they drive on. After passing the next road sign, the wife finds that her husband is right, and hands him twenty dollars.

What did the last sign say and how did the man know?

This is the International Radio Operators Alphabet.
Foxtrot is the comicstrip title that was being referred to, so if Golf came after then one could only assume Hotel was coming next. The guy was a retired Air Force pilot so he would be aware of this alphabet.

 

Sounds good to me. I don't know the answer yet myself. I found this on a puzzle site, and copied the answer without looking. I'll check and see if you're right.

We have a buyer for our Temperpidic bed I will Miss it. But I miss my friends more. Sold most of our furniture already. so you want the answer to the riddle or would somebody else want to hop in and take a stab.

 

Seems quiet in here tonight. I tried to figure out the riddle, and I usually fail, but I'll give it another shot. Don't post the answer just yet.

Now that's a cool riddle! I like that it had a kind of code in it, and wasn't merely math! Not that math is mere, it's just that I can't get it!

Yes, at the eleventh night that snail is at 11 metres and on the twelvth day the snail climbs 4 metres to hit 15 metres and thus reached its target. However, this assumes that the snail is intelligent and knows when it has reached the top of the tree!
