Right click problem

Hi,

Whenever i right click recently to go to properties, my screen refreshes and everything disapears for a couple of seconds. Exept that is for my wallpaper. I have scanned for viruses using avg and used adaware se but nothing turns up. I have also used A2 spyware remover but to no avail. The only program i have running in the background which i don't know is "msiexec". I have trie to stop it incase its a virus but it comes right back. I have even deleted it but it reappears again. Can anyone help me as i don't know what else to do.

It sounds like you may be having a problem with windows installer program. While I don't know much about it personnally, maybe this link might help.

I have the exact same problem as dazpants1. Whenever I right click an exe file or shortcut to one, all items on the desktop (except for the wallpaper) disappear for a couple of seconds then come back. Any folders that were open, end up closing from this. I couldn't find any info from the link tigerray00 posted, so does anyone else know how to fix this problem?
I should also note that I do not seem to have "msiexec" running in the background, so that probably isn't what's causing it.
