Ring tones

I've always leached off of howardforums.com.

There is usually a thread or two floating around with a ton of attached member made ringtones.

Unfortunately I think you can only send them to a UK based phone but you can download the tones played and transfer them to a phone via bluetooth usb or infrared.

 

I just take MP3's and cut off the first half or so, and then just copy it over to my Motorola using Motorola Phone tools and the USB cable. The ring tones sound great, not like those crappy NES game sounding rings. Plus I can use any song I want.

well... i dont use a site... i have ringtone media studio... it lets you convert songs videos and pics and send them to ur phone via infared or bluetooth... although its not free... you get 5 free with the trial

 

i could never work out what was wrong with 'dring dring'. lol. i hate (dislike intensely) all these stupid ring tones.

 

As I opened this thread the exact same thought was going through my mind...

 

I guess it's just one of those "because you can" kind of things.

MA, easiest way to get decent free ring tones is to try a P2P program.

I've downloaded them on LimeWire Pro and ShareAza, and there was a large selection, but like everything on P2P it's trial and error.

 

I make my own ringtones as well with mp3's, Wavepad (mp3 editor), a USB cable, and a program that lets me access my Verizon phone called QPST...

 

When I used to have time/inclination to play with such things, I used to do a similar thing. Also with various sound files. One of my cellphones has a cop 2-way handie-talkie type call out. It certainly makes people, look around and think, W.T.H., when it goes off in a Mall, or something. I had one that sounded like a great, long fart, but I got looks of a different kind - so I thought better of it, ROFL!

'Cause it has my 'Phantom' pic. on the screen, LoL! The business phones just have the boring '3 .com' screen, and some classical music ringtone, eh.

 

Depends on your carrier. Depends on your phone.

I uploaded most of mine to my Sprint phone either by email or by usb cable.

ROFL...my husband has this high pitched emergency alarm ringtone for when I call...he says it's so he can hear it over the machinery at work, but I think it's more like a danger warning

 

My "wife calling" ringtone is the Imperial March, from Star Wars!

You know, the music that played whenever Darth Vader appeared.

Haha, yeh it's clever that on some phones you can change ringtones for different people

 

Yeah..I can do that on my MPX...maybe I should set my husband's ringtone to the Monty Python Lumberjack song....HEHE!
